AN URBAN RETREAT

DLX Lighting were appointed to design the lighting scheme for this beautiful urban retreat in Maida Vale, thoughtfully designed by George Cullis. The goal was to create a calm, peaceful, and inviting environment that offers a true escape from the energy of city life, while complementing the property’s architectural and natural features.

Our design approach balanced aesthetics, functionality, and the natural surroundings to enhance both the front and rear gardens. Using soft, warm, layered lighting, we crafted an atmosphere that feels intimate yet refined.

Key focal points include the water bowl feature and upper-level seating areas, where subtle uplights and feature hanging star lights add depth, reflection, and visual interest. Together, these details create a soothing ambience that encourages relaxation and a deeper connection with the outdoor space.
